North Carolina
UNC is the top seed in the region. The Tar Heels were regular-season ACC champions alongside Virginia. North Carolina was 27-6 for the season and 16-2 in conference play. The Heels lost to Duke in the ACC Tournament semifinal. UNC is looking to reach its 21st Final Four in program history. They were the 2017 NCAA Tournament champions.
Kentucky
Kentucky is the second seed in the region. The Wildcats went 27-6 this season and 15-3 in the SEC. They finished one game out of the regular-season title and lost to Tennessee in the tournament semifinal. Kentucky has reached the Final Four 17 times in program history. Their last appearance came in 2015.

Houston
The Houston Cougars are the third seed in the West region. Houston posted an impressive 31-3 record this season while going 16-2 in the American Athletic Conference. Houston won the regular season championship by two games but lost to Cincinnati in the tournament championship. The Cougars have reached the Final Four five times in program history, last doing so in 1984.
Auburn
The Auburn Tigers are the fifth seed in this region. Auburn had a strong season, going 26-9 overall with an 11-7 record in the SEC. Auburn finished tied for fourth in the conference, but ended up winning the SEC Tournament by besting Tennessee in the final on Sunday. Auburn has never reached the Final Four in program history. They last reached the Elite Eight in 1986.
