Cardinals race past Fighting Irish
Louisville advanced in the ACC Tournament Wednesday night with a 75-53 victory over Notre Dame to improve to 20-12 on the season. The Cardinals led 34-25 at halftime en route to the win. Louisville shot 26-of-66 from the floor, 9-of-29 from 3-point range plus 14-of-15 at the free throw line. Jordan Nwora paced the Cardinals with 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting including 3-of-7 from 3-point range plus 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He also grabbed nine rebounds. Ryan McMahon contributed 12 points, five assists and two boards off the bench. Steven Enoch added 10 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots as a reserve.
Tar Heels sweep Blue Devils
North Carolina finished a regular season sweep over rival Duke Saturday night with a 79-70 home win to improve to 26-5 on the season. The Tar Heels outscored the Blue Devils 41-30 in the second half after trailing by two at halftime. North Carolina shot 30-of-74 from the field, 12-of-31 from 3-point distance plus 7-of-13 at the free throw line. Coby White led the Tar Heels with 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting including 4-of-10 from 3-point range plus 1-of-1 at the free throw line. He also contributed three assists and three blocked shots. Kenny Williams notched 18 points, six rebounds and three dimes. Cameron Johnson had 14 points, 10 boards and two steals. Garrison Brooks added 10 points, five caroms and two blocks.

Each team won on their opponent’s home floor this season and handily at that. The Cardinals dominated the host Tar Heels 83-62, while UNC returned the favor later with a 79-69 victory at Louisville. The Cardinals might be the more motivated team here and showed Wednesday to be on top of their game. I like Louisville here with its strong defense and improving offense to stay within the number against the Tar Heels.
