GARLAND, TX (TheSpread) – The 2013 SWAC Tournament is one of the smaller conference tournaments in the nation. Here is a look at the odds to win this tournament.

This Tournament is a 7-team single elimination tournament where the top seed has a bye into the semifinals. Each game is played at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas, and the tournament runs from March 13-16. Three regular members are ineligible for the tournament due to NCAA sanctions. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Southern is the clear favorite to win, as it has 1/4 odds to win. The other short odds to win are Jackson State (7/1) and Alcorn State (9/1).

Southern is the top seed, but only because Texas Southern is ineligible for the tournament. Southern went 15-3 in conference play and 21-9 overall. Southern has won this tournament seven times, last winning in 2006.

Jackson State is the No. 2 seed in this tournament. Jackson State was 9-9 in SWAC play and 10-17 overall. Jackson State has won this tournament five times, last winning in 2007.

Alcorn State is the No. 3 seed. It went 8-10 in SWAC play and 10-23 overall. Alcorn State has won this tournament seven times, last winning in 2002.
