NEW YORK (TheSpread) – The 2013 Big East Basketball Tournament begins play on Tuesday. Here is a look at the odds to win this massive tournament.

This Tournament is a 14-team single elimination tournament where the top four teams have a bye into the quarterfinals and six teams have byes into the second round, while four teams will meet in the opening round. Each game is played at Madison Square Garden in New York and the tournament runs from March 12-16. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Louisville is the favorite to win, as the Cardinals have odds of 6/5 to win. Other short odds to win are Pittsburgh (9/2), Syracuse (5/1) and Georgetown (11/2).

Louisville is the No. 2 seed in the tournament after going 14-4 in the Big East and 26-5 overall. The Cardinals are the defending champion of this tournament and they have won it twice in program history.

Pittsburgh is the No. 4 seed in the tournament. The Panthers went 12-6 in the Big East and 24-7 overall. Pittsburgh has won this tournament two times, with the last title coming in 2008.

Syracuse is the No. 5 seed in this tournament. The Orange went 11-7 in the Big East and 23-8 overall. Syracuse has won this tournament five times, with the last title coming in 2006.

Georgetown is the No. 1 seed after going 14-4 in the Big East and 26-5 overall. Georgetown has won this tournament seven times, tied for the most of any school. It’s last championship came in 2007.
