This Tournament is a 9-team single elimination tournament in a staggered format. One game takes place tonight with the top 7 teams each getting byes to different levels of the tournament. The top two seeds are already placed in the semifinals. Each game is played at the Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nevada. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Gonzaga is the favorite to win, as it has odds of 2/7 to win. Other short odds to win are St. Mary’s (5/2) and BYU (12/1).
Gonzaga is the top seed of the tournament. The Bulldogs went 16-0 in WCC play and is 29-2 overall. Gonzaga has won this tournament 11 times, with the last coming in 2011.
St. Mary’s is the No. 2 seed in the tournament. It is 26-5 overall and 14-2 in the WCC. St. Mary’s is the defending champion of this tournament and has won it on three occasions.
BYU is the third seed in the tournament and will begin play in the quarterfinals. The Cougars are 21-10 overall and went 10-6 in the WCC. BYU has never won this tournament.
