AP Player of the Year Odds
(TheSpread) – The 2012-13 College Basketball Season is nearing its end. Here is a look at the odds to win the AP Player of the Year award.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Indiana’s Victor Oladipo is the current favorite to win the honor, as he has odds of +100 to win. Other candidates are Michigan’s Trey Burke (+250) and Georgetown’s Otto Porter Jr. (+300).
The other featured game on the day has No. 5 Kansas hosting Texas Tech at 7PM ET (View Matchup). According to oddsmakers, Kansas is the favorite in this game, as the Jayhawks have odds of -24.5 points against the Red Raiders. Kansas is 25-4 overall, 15-1 at home and 15-13 against the spread. Texas Tech is 10-17 overall, 1-7 on the road and 8-12 against the spread. Kansas has won six straight in this series and covered the spread in three of the last four meetings.
Oladipo is a 6-5 junior guard for the Hoosiers and is considered by many to be the top defensive player in the country. He is averaging 14 points, 2.1 assists, 2.3 steals and 6 rebounds per game this season. He is also shooting 63.4 percent from the field and 49 percent from 3-point land.
Burke is a 6-0 sophomore guard for the Wolverines. He is currently averaging 18.9 points, 6.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 3.1 rebounds per game. He shoots 49.5 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from 3-point land and 79.5 percent from the free throw line.
Porter is a 6-8 sophomore forward for the Hoyas. Porter is averaging 16.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2 steals and 1 block per game. Porter is shooting 51 percent from the floor, 46.9 percent from 3-point land and 77.3 percent from the free throw line.
