Cardinals ease past Tar Heels
Louisville rolled to a 72-55 home win Saturday afternoon over North Carolina to improve to 23-5 overall and 14-3 in the ACC. The Cardinals led 36-23 at halftime on their way to the triumph. Jordan Nwora led Louisville with 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting including 3-of-7 from 3-point distance plus 1-of-2 at the free throw line. He also registered 11 rebounds and two steals. Malik Williams added 17 points, nine boards and two assists.
Seminoles down Wolfpack
Florida State earned a 67-61 win Saturday at North Carolina State to move to 23-4 overall and 13-3 in conference action. The Seminoles outscored the Wolfpack 40-29 in the second half after trailing by five at the break. M.J. Walker paced FSU with 12 points on 3-of-7 shooting including 1-of-2 from 3-point range plus 5-of-7 at the charity stripe. He also notched four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Patrick Williams accounted for 12 points and six boards off the bench. Devin Vassell contributed 11 points, six caroms and three steals. Trent Forrest added 10 points, three dimes and two rebounds.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Louisville
The Cardinals are 15-6 ATS in their last 21 Monday games. The underdog is 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings.
Florida State
The Seminoles are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Florida State is 2-5 ATS in its last seven Monday games.
Prediction:
Louisville has lost its last two road games with poor performances at Georgia Tech and Clemson, but something tells me it will be a much more focused effort here considering what is at stake. This is also a revenge game for the Cardinals as their only other ACC loss was a 78-65 home shellacking at the hands of the Seminoles back on January 4. Florida State has not lost at home this season, but it did take overtime last year to take down Louisville. I’m going with the Cardinals to get it done tonight.
