Two squads that take pride in strong defense will clash this afternoon as the third-ranked Virginia Cavaliers play at the 18th-ranked Louisville Cardinals. Will that lead to the total staying under its projection?

Cavs down rival Hokies
Virginia secured a season sweep over rival Virginia Tech on the road Monday night with a 64-58 victory. The Cavaliers 23-2, 11-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) outscored the Hokies 32-29 in both halves en route to the win. Kyle Guy paced Virginia with 23 points on 8-of-15 shooting including 6-of-13 from 3-point range plus 1-of-2 at the free throw line. He also contributed seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. Ty Jerome accounted for 16 points, six assists and three boards. De’Andre Hunter added 10 points and four caroms. The Cavaliers shot 23-of-50 from the floor, 11-of-27 from 3-point range and 7-of-12 from the free throw line.
Cardinals fall flat at Syracuse
Louisville lost by a count of 69-49 Wednesday night at the Orange to fall to 18-9 overall and 9-5 in the ACC. The Cardinals trailed 35-23 at halftime and continued to struggle after the break. Louisville shot 14-of-54 from the floor, 6-of-28 from 3-point distance and 15-of-18 at the free throw line. Jordan Nwora was the only Cardinals player in double figures for scoring as he registered 11 points on 3-of-13 shooting including 1-of-5 from 3-point range plus 4-of-4 at the free throw line. He also pulled down six rebounds.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Virginia
The under is 26-9-1 in the last 36 Cavaliers games on Saturdays. The under is 36-14-1 in the last 51 Virginia road games.
Louisville
The under is 4-0 in the last four Cardinals home games. The under is 6-1 in the last seven Louisville games on Saturdays.
Prediction:
The Cavaliers bottle basically everyone up that isn’t Duke, while Louisville is coming off a porous offensive showing at Syracuse. The Cardinals also struggled offensively the previous game, a 56-55 home win over Clemson. Due to their snail’s pace, Virginia hasn’t exactly been scoring a ton either lately. This one has all the makings of a defensive showdown and I don’t think the total is quite low enough. Take advantage.
