Villanova (21-6, 9-5) is only one game behind second-place Notre Dame in the bunched-up Big East standings, while Syracuse (22-6, 9-6) is also in the mix of teams tryings to secure a key positions in the Big East Tournament. Villanova hosts Syracuse on ESPN at 7:00PM EST Monday night.
Oddsmakers and online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Villanova a 3.5-point favorite in the contest. The Wildcats are 14-2 in home games this season, while Syracuse has a record of 4-3 on the road.
According to the latest trends, Villanova is 3-1 against the spread versus Syracuse over the past three seasons. The last four games in the series have gone over the total.
Villanova, which has won its last two with nailbiter victories at Seton Hall and DePaul, has had to deal with the loss of guard Corey Stokes (14.6 points per game) for the last three contests due to injury. He will again be out Monday night.
