Cowboys fall on last-second shot
Oklahoma State lost by a count of 70-68 Wednesday night at Texas Christian as a last-second shot by the hosts was its undoing. The Cowboys battled back in the second half as they outscored the Horned Frogs 40-31 in the second half, but could not get over the hump. Oklahoma State shot 25-of-52 from the floor, 5-of-16 from 3-point range and 13-of-15 from the free throw line. Yor Anei paced the Cowboys with 20 points on 7-of-7 shooting plus 6-of-7 at the free throw line. He also had five rebounds and two blocked shots. Isaac Likekele accounted for 17 points, seven assists, four boards and three boards. Thomas Dziagwa added 14 points and three rebounds.
Jayhawks stumble at Wildcats
Kansas lost by a count of 74-67 score Tuesday night at rival Kansas State to drop to 17-6 overall and 6-4 in the Big 12. The Jayhawks were outscored 44-34 in the second half of the defeat. Kansas shot 24-of-52 from the field, 7-of-20 from 3-point range and 12-of-16 at the free throw line. Dedric Lawson paced the Jayhawks with 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting including 1-of-5 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He also accounted for nine rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals. Devon Dotson added 13 points plus five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys are 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games overall. Oklahoma State is 2-6 ATS in its last eight Saturday games.
Kansas
The Jayhawks are 1-5 ATS its their last six Big 12 games. Kansas is 3-9 ATS in its last 12 Saturday games.
Prediction:
Kansas isn’t playing nearly up to its talent level, but the good news is it will be playing its weakest opponent in three weeks today. But the last time the Jayhawks played a team as lowly as Oklahoma State, it lost by a 65-64 score at West Virginia. With this contest being at home, however, I like Kansas to find a way to carve out a decisive win over a Cowboys team that isn’t imposing on either end of the floor.
