Vols tie school record
Tennessee matched a school record with its 15th consecutive victory Tuesday night as it blasted host South Carolina by a count of 92-70. The Volunteers (19-1, 7-0 SEC) outscored the Gamecocks 45-32 in the second half to pull away. Tennessee shot 36-of-64 from the floor, 7-of-19 from 3-point range and 13-of-20 at the free throw line to earn the win. Admiral Schofield paced the Volunteers with 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting including 1-of-5 from 3-point range plus 5-of-5 at the free throw line. He also notched nine rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots. Grant Williams tallied 23 points, nine boards and four steals. Jordan Bone had 19 points, nine assists and five rebounds. Lamonte Turner added 13 points, three assists and two steals.
Aggies fall flat against LSU
Texas A&M dropped a 72-57 home decision Wednesday night versus Louisiana State to fall to 8-11 overall and 1-6 in SEC play. The Aggies were outscored 35-21 in the second half of the defeat. T.J. Starks paced Texas A&M with 21 points on 7-of-19 shooting including 2-of-10 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He also recorded five rebounds and three assists. Josh Nebo added 16 points, 11 boards and four blocked shots off the bench. The Aggies shot 18-of-54 from the field, 3-of-21 from 3-point distance and 18-of-23 at the free throw line in the defeat.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Tennessee
The Volunteers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall. Tennessee is 16-5 ATS in its last 21 road games.
Texas A&M
The Aggies are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games. The underdog is 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven meetings.
Prediction:
The Volunteers haven’t played the most difficult of schedules, but keep beating most teams put in front of them handily. Three of their last five wins have been by at least 17 points. Texas A&M is struggling this season and I can’t see it putting up much of a fight against a program ranked No. 1 in the country. Considering the Aggies just lost by 15 at home against LSU, expect another one-sided game today.
