TCU Player Spotlight
Desmond Bane dropped a game-high 27 points (10-15 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the win over Texas Tech on Tuesday. This was Bane’s second highest scoring output of the season. He was the only Horned Frog to score more than 11 points, but it was the TCU defense that held Texas Tech down for a big win. Bane will remain easily a top-five option in the Big 12 the rest of the season. He is averaging career-highs in scoring (17.2 PPG), rebounds (6.7 RPG), assists (3.4 APG), steals (1.7 SPG), and three-pointers per game (2.9 3PM). TCU will face Arkansas on Saturday.
Baylor Player Spotlight
Jared Butler posted a game-high 19 points (7-16 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and added five assists, two rebounds, and two steals in the win over Iowa State on Wednesday. Butler has been the guy that has led Baylor to being arguably the best team in college basketball right now. He trails only Devon Dotson in the Big 12 in scoring at 16.9 PPG. Butler also has the third most three-pointers made in the conference. He will try to keep the train rolling when it heads into Stillwater to square off with Oklahoma State.
NCAA College Basketball Betting Trends
TCU
The Horned Frogs are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games and are winless at the window in their last four games when listed as a road underdog.
Baylor
The favorite has covered in eight of the last nine meetings between these two teams while the Bears are 7-1 against the number in their last eight games overall.
Prediction
This number is a tad high but I’m not willing to put my hand in that Baylor meatgrinder right now, so I’m going to play the total. The under is 9-4 in the Horned Frogs’ last 13 games coming off a loss and has cashed in eight of their last 11 games coming off an ATS loss. On the other side, the under is 7-1 in the Bears’ last eight games as a home favorite, has cashed in six of their last seven home games and in six of their last eight games overall.
