Trojans prevail in OT
Southern Cal earned an 82-78 home win Saturday over Stanford to improve to 15-3 overall and 4-1 in Pac-12 Conference play. The Trojans railled from a big deficit by outscoring the Cardinal 44-24 in the second half and 13-9 in the extra session. Onyeka Okongwu led USC with 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting plus 6-of-7 at the free throw line. He also registered nine rebounds, four blocked shots and three assists. Jonah Mathews tallied 19 points, five boards, three assists and three steals. Elijah Weaver recorded 13 points in 17 minutes off the bench. Ethan Anderson added 11 points and four dimes.
Pritchard triple lifts Ducks
Payton Pritchard drained a 3-pointer with 3.4 seconds left in overtime Saturday night to break a tie in a 64-61 victory at Washington. The Ducks railled back by outscoring the Huskies 31-19 in the second half and 8-5 in OT. Pritchard led Oregon with 22 points on 7-of-16 shooting including 6-of-12 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also tallied three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Chandler Lawson added 16 points, 12 boards and three assists off the bench.
College Basketball Betting Trends
USC
The Trojans are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. USC is 11-5 ATS in its last 16 Thursday games.
Oregon
The Ducks are 23-7 ATS in their last 30 games overall. Oregon is 11-4 ATS in its last 15 home games.
Prediction:
This will be an important measuring stick for USC as it has had a pretty strong season to date, but the best wins so far are a semi-home triumph over LSU and Saturday’s OT win against Stanford at home. The Trojans have a couple lopsided losses on their resume, but for the most part have been competitive and competent even if the schedule has not always been overly difficult. With Oregon being a bit inconsistent lately, I see this as a good spot to pounce on the Trojans. Take the points here.
