Gonzaga up to No. 3 in Top 25
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The Gonzaga Bulldogs have been quietly creeping up the top 25 rankings all season, and now they find themselves near the very top.
Gonzaga improved to 16-1 on the season in the last week with wins over San Francisco and Santa Clara. The wins, combined with losses to some top teams, including Duke, allowed Gonzaga to make the jump up to No. 3 in the USA Today Top 25 Poll.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Gonzaga is now one of the favorites to win the National Championship in 2015. The Bulldogs currently have 12/1 odds to win it all. Kentucky is the clear favorite with 1/1 odds, while Duke is at 8/1. Gonzaga joins Virginia and Wisconsin with 12/1 odds.
Gonzaga is off to its 16-1 start while going 5-0 in conference play. The Bulldogs are 8-4-2 against the spread thus far and the team holds wins over the likes of Georgia, St. John’s and UCLA. The lone loss this year was 66-63 in OT to Arizona on the road. Gonzaga has never won the national championship and it has never reached the Final Four. Gonzaga’s best showing was the Elite Eight in 1999.
