LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -John Wall is rewriting the record books at Kentucky.
The freshman guard broke Travis Ford’s school record for assists in a game when he handed out 16 against Hartford on Tuesday night.
Wall set the school record for assists by a freshman when he had 14 against UNC Asheville on Nov. 30.
Ford eclipsed Ford with about 4 minutes to play when he fed teammate Perry Stevenson, who hit a jumper from the top of the key as the crowd at Rupp Arena roared.
Wall entered the game averaging 6.8 assists, tops in the Southeastern Conference and second in the nation.
