CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -North Carolina has brought back its throwback uniforms from the 1957 national championship season, which includes a touch of red.
The ninth-ranked Tar Heels wore the uniforms for Monday night's game against Rutgers.
The uniforms from that unbeaten season include red along the waistband of the shorts and some red trim along the neck and shoulder lines of the jersey. The Tar Heels wore the uniforms in their opener against Florida International as part of a season-long celebration of the program's centennial season.
