JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -Nick Leon scored 20 points and St. Peter's led from start to finish in a 69-61 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday night.
Ryan Bacon added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Peacocks (4-7), and Wesley Jenkins had 13 points.
Sean Baptiste had a game-high 25 points for FDU (1-8), and Cameron Tyler added 17.
St. Peter's jumped to an early 9-2 lead as Jenkins scored five points in the game's first three minutes. The teams played on nearly even terms for the rest of the half, and St. Peter's led 33-24 at intermission.
Trailing 53-41 with 9:37 remaining, FDU went on a 10-2 run, closing to within four points at 55-51 on a fast break layup by Tyler with 6:28 to go.
But a free throw and a jumper by Bacon stretched the lead to seven, and the Peacocks held on for the win.
