LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) -Ryan Thompson scored 19 points to lead Rider to a 70-49 win over the New Jersey Institute of Technology on Saturday, sending the Highlanders to their 43rd consecutive loss.
Lamar Johnson added 13 points for the Broncs (6-3), while Mike Ringgold and Paul Mansell had 11 points each. Gary Garris had 14 points for the Highlanders (0-10), while Brendon Lyn added 10 points and seven rebounds.
Rider, which never trailed, took command early on and closed the first half with an 11-3 run to take a 40-19 lead at the break. They then maintained double-digit leads throughout the second half.
NJIT had a tough day from the field, hitting just 27.9 percent of their shots and going 5-of-23 from 3-point range. The Highlanders last win came against Longwood on Feb. 19, 2007.
