LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) -Will Bynum scored 15 points, and Danny Piepoli added 12 in Montana State's 75-61 victory over Long Beach State on Saturday.
Bynum made six of 10 shots, had five rebounds and four steals to help the Bobcats (5-4) win for the fourth time in their last six games.
Cody Anderson added 11 points, and Bobby Howard and Divaldo Mbunga had 10 each for Montana State. The Bobcats outrebounded the 49ers 44-29.
Long Beach State (4-6) committed a season-high 19 turnovers in its fourth straight loss. Larry Anderson led the 49ers with 13 points. Stephan Gilling made four 3-pointers and scored 12 points, and Brian Freeman had nine rebounds.
The Bobcats used a 19-3 run midway through the first half to build a 26-9 lead. The 49ers never got closer than nine points the remainder of the game.
