 FARGO, N.D. (AP) -Brett Winkelman had 23 points and Ben Woodside added 18 to lead North Dakota State to an 83-61 men's basketball win over Valley City State on Thursday.
Winkelman was 9-for-14 from the field for the Bison (6-3), who pulled away late in the first half to take control of the game against the Vikings (6-7).
Winkelman tied the game at 23 with a free throw with 6:16 to play in the first half. Freddy Coleman broke the tie a minute later and gave the Bison the lead for good.
NDSU led 37-30 at halftime.
Calvin Kraft had 15 points and Mark Klingberg 11 for the Vikings.
