 INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Austin Montgomery hit 4 of 7 3-pointers and scored 21 points as IUPUI beat Florida Gulf Coast 84-62 Monday night.
Billy Pettiford had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Jaguars (8-2). LeRoy Nobles had 13 and Jon Avery 11.
IUPUI led 36-35 at the break and extended its lead with 55.6 percent field-goal shooting in the second half. The Jaguars shot 24 of 28 (85.7 percent) from the free-throw line and outrebounded the Eagles 31-26.
Rob Quaintance and Landon Adler each scored 16 for Florida Gulf Coast (3-8), which shot 42 percent from the floor.
IUPUI outscored the Eagles 34-24 in the paint and 18-9 off second-chance points. The Jaguars scored 21 points off turnovers compared with 17 for Florida Gulf Coast.
