SEATTLE (AP) -Matt Bouldin, Gonzaga’s leading scorer, was out of the lineup for the 21st-ranked Bulldogs against Davidson on Saturday.
Bouldin was on the bench in a pink dress shirt and tie during pregame warmups for Gonzaga’s annual game in Seattle. School spokesman Oliver Pierce said Bouldin was being held out because the team’s trainer determined the senior guard was not fully recovered from a head-to-head collision early in Wednesday night’s win over Division III Augustana of Illinois.
Bouldin, who is averaging 16.8 points per game, said before practicing Friday that “it was like lights out basically for a second” when he got by an opponent’s forehead just below his temple, but that he felt fine.
