Lipscomb cruises past Tennessee-Martin 86-62 Print

 NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Martin Smith scored 22 points to lead four Lipscomb players in double figures as the Bisons cruised to an 86-62 win over Tennessee-Martin on Saturday night.
Deonte Alexander and John Ross Glover added 13 points each and Stephen Hurt chipped in 10 for Lipscomb (4-4).
The Bisons jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first 6 minutes. After the Skyhawks (3-7) cut it to four, at 23-19 at the 8:20 mark, Lipscomb closed out the half on a 23-8 run.
Tennessee-Martin could get no closer than 14 in the second half despite 13 second-half turnovers by the Bisons.
Lipscomb shot 47.5 percent from the field (28 of 59) compared to 33.3 percent for the Skyhawks (20 of 60).
The Bisons also dominated on the glass, taking a 49-33 rebounding advantage.
Myles Taylor and Khristian Taylor scored 14 points apiece for Tennessee-Martin, which has lost four of its last five.
