NEW YORK (AP) Yunus Hopkinson scored career highs with 28 points and 10 rebounds for his first double-double and St. Francis (NY) pulled away in the second half to beat Division III Mount St. Vincent 69-51 on Wednesday night.
Glenn Bracia collected his 100th win as St. Francis’ coach, his seventh season at the helm.
Leading 25-24 at halftime, St. Francis pulled ahead 44-39 early in the second half after Hopkinson hit a 3-pointer, three free throws and a jumper. Freshman Rasheem Dunn’s layup with 3:08 left gave the Terriers a 17-point lead that was never threatened.
Dunn scored 13 points, freshman Robert Montgomery scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Glenn Sanabria added 10 points. The Terriers (2-7) made 28 of 42 free throws and outrebounded the Dolphins 63-35.
Andrew Curiel scored 12 points and had 12 rebounds for the Dolphins (1-4), who played it as an exhibition game.
