NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) -Joe Seymore hit a basket with three seconds left to play in overtime as Central Connecticut State University defeated Mount St. Mary’s 66-65 on Saturday.
Ken Horton led Central Connecticut (4-1, 1-0) in scoring with 22 points. David Simmons had 13 for the Blue Devils, and Shemik Thompson and Seymore added 10 each.
Jeremy Goode had 19 points to lead Mount St. Mary’s. Kelly Beidler contributed 17 points and six rebounds for the Mount (2-4, 0-2).
Central Connecticut was ahead 24-20 at the half, but neither team led by more than four throughout a second half in which the lead changed 12 times.
The Blue Devils scored in the final three points of regulation to send the game to overtime, their first OT game of the season.
