 ORONO, Maine (AP) --Junior Bernal scored 19 points and led Maine to a 86-58 victory over winless New Jersey Tech on Saturday.
Bernal scored the game's first basket, and the Black Bears (4-4) never trailed. They opened a 25-10 lead, and increased it to 39-20 by intermission as the Highlanders (0-8) had 14 of their 24 turnovers. A 13-2 run in the second half put the game away.
Maine shot 52 percent from the field while New Jersey Tech managed only 28 percent.
Jason Hight added 12 points for Maine and Brian Andre had 11.
Nesho Milosevic led the Highlanders with 18 points and 16 rebounds.
