EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) -Jeremy Goode had 22 points and nine assists to lead previously winless Mount St. Mary’s over in-state rival Loyola 70-58 on Saturday night.
Chris Vann scored 16 points and Will Holland had 13 for the Mountaineers (1-4), who outscored Loyola 31-9 during a 15-minute stretch that spanned both halves. Vann had 11 points and Goode had nine during the run, which staked the Mountaineers to a 47-30 lead.
Gerald Brown led the Greyhounds (4-4) with 12 points. After his layup gave Loyola a 21-16 lead, the Mount held the Greyhounds scoreless over the final 7:41 of the first half. Mount St. Mary’s led 27-21 at halftime.
