CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) North Carolina says senior guard Marcus Paige is expected to return from a right hand injury for Tuesday night’s game against No. 2 Maryland in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
The school issued a news release Monday announcing Paige’s likely return for the No. 9 Tar Heels, though Paige still had to practice later in the afternoon without a setback.
The preseason Atlantic Coast Conference co-player of the year hasn’t played this season after breaking a bone in his non-shooting hand on Nov. 3. He was expected to miss three to four weeks, so his potential return comes right on schedule.
The Marion, Iowa native said last month that he was getting daily questions on campus about whether he would be ready for the Maryland game.
