PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) -Anthony Farmer came off the bench to score 13 points as Rutgers beat St. Peter’s 68-47 on Sunday, snapping a two-game losing streak.
JR Inman added 10 points and nine rebounds for Rutgers (4-2), who shot 47.8 percent from the field but finished with a season-high 29 turnovers. Wesley Jenkins scored 18 points to lead St. Peter’s (1-4) and Nick Leon had 17 for the Peacocks, who made just 26.8 percent and committed 14 turnovers.
Rutgers started out sloppy, committing six turnovers in the first five minutes as St. Peter’s took a 5-4 lead. But the Scarlet Knights soon took control with an 8-0 run that lasted seven minutes and eventually took a 26-12 lead at the break.
St. Peter’s then tried to rally, starting the second half with a 7-0 run. Rutgers, though, soon responded with a 10-5 run and never trailed again.
