GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) – Center Marreese Speights led Florida with 15 points and six rebounds in a 71-48 win over Stetson on Tuesday night.
Gators coach Billy Donovan pulled four starters less than four minutes into the game after a sluggish start. Florida (6-1) trailed 12-3 before a 14-0 Gator run sparked by forward Adam Allen’s 3-pointer.
Stetson (2-5) missed 15 of its next 18 shots and trailed 35-21 at halftime.
Stetson finished the game shooting 33.9 percent from the field.
Florida got 10 points and four rebounds from Jonathan Mitchell and Nick Calathes finished with seven points and seven assists. All nine Florida players who took the court scored at least 3 points each.
Guard Garfield Blair led Stetson with 16 points.
