Terrell Holloway and the Xavier Musketeers schooled the Memphis Tigers.
Holloway made 10 free throws without a miss and finished with 13 points to help Xavier beat No. 13 Memphis 63-58 on Sunday night in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off final.
``We're disappointed with the outcome, but November games are about learning about your team. We did tonight,'' Memphis coach John Calipari said.
B.J. Raymond and Jamel McLean added 11 points each for the Musketeers (5-0).
``I'm really proud of our team,'' Xavier coach Sean Miller said. ``We really showed a lot of toughness and resiliency in all three games in the tournament.''
Tyreke Evans led Memphis (4-1) with 12 points, but was 4-for-16 from the field.
In other games in the eight-team tournament, Seton Hall beat Virginia Tech 77-73 for third place, Missouri held off No. 19 Southern California 83-72 for fifth place, and Fairfield beat Chattanooga 61-42 for seventh place.

In other Top 25 games, No. 3 Louisville overpowered South Alabama 81-54 in the Billy Minardi Classic final; No. 10 Duke beat Montana 78-58; and No. 15 Arizona State topped Pepperdine 61-40.
In San Juan, Holloway made two free throws with 27 seconds to go to give Xavier a 61-58 lead. After Memphis' Robert Dozier missed two free throws with 17 seconds left, Dante' Jackson and C.J. Anderson hit free throws to seal the victory.
Both teams struggled from the field, with Xavier shooting 36 percent and Memphis finishing at 32.7 percent. Xavier was 25-for-37 at the line, and Memphis was 15-of-30.
Memphis was 38-2 last season, losing the national title game to Kansas in overtime.
``This year's team is so different from last year's team and the year before. What disappointed me were our seniors down the stretch,'' Calipari said. ``Hopefully, we get better as the season goes on. We had chances to win the game, but didn't make the plays we needed to make to win. We had some guys that played tentative and not to lose.''
Xavier opened the tournament with a 75-71 victory over Missouri, then beat Virginia Tech 63-62 in overtime.

Earlier, Jeremy Hazell scored 23 points to lead Seton Hall (4-1) past Virginia Tech (3-2) in the third-place game. Malcolm Delaney had 25 points for Virginia Tech.
In the fifth-place game, DeMarre Carroll had 29 points and 11 rebounds for Missouri (4-1) in the Tigers' victory over Southern California (3-2).
Dwight Lewis had 15 points for the Trojans, going 15-of-28 from the line.

At Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands, Hasheem Thabeet had 19 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks, and A.J. Price added 13 points and 11 rebounds for Connecticut in the Paradise Jam semifinals.
The Huskies (4-0) will face Wisconsin in the final of the eight-team tournament. Jack McClinton had 27 points for the Hurricanes (2-1), and Dwayne Collins added 16 points and 14 rebounds.

At Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands, Trevon Hughes had 22 points, and Wisconsin (4-0) held San Diego (2-2) to 34.5 percent shooting.
Brandon Johnson led San Diego with 19 points, including 5-for-8 from three-point range.

At Louisville, Ky., freshman Samardo Samuels scored 24 points for Louisville (2-0) in the final of the Billy Minardi Classic.
