INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Shelvin Mack scored 19 points Saturday and Butler used a 16-0 first-half run to beat Indiana-South Bend 87-33.
The Bulldogs (3-0) trailed only once after a layup by Ben Werner in the opening minute.
Matt Howard tied the game, then Gordon Hayward put Butler in front for good. The Bulldgos led 17-13 before a 3-pointer by Hayward started the 16-point run that put the game out of reach.
Butler led 39-16 at halftime and widened the lead steadily through the second half. The final score was the largest lead of the game.
Hayward and Avery Jukes added 15 points each for the Bulldogs. IUSB (2-7), an NAIA school, was led by Werner and Mark Comparato with 8 points apiece.
