LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP) – The Maui Invitational had a scintillating bracket last year, with Kemba Walker and Connecticut rolling through a talented field in a warm-up to its national-title run.
This year’s tournament has the potential to be even better.
With a field that’s combined for 20 national championships and paradise as the backdrop, the 2011 Maui Invitational is as good as it gets when it comes to holiday tournaments.
The field includes No. 6 Duke, which has won four Maui titles, No. 10 Memphis, No. 12 Kansas and No. 17 Michigan.
Tennessee, Georgetown, UCLA and Chaminade round out the tournament that runs Monday through Wednesday at tiny Lahaina Civic Center.
