WACO, Texas (AP) – Quincy Acy and Quincy Miller sparked a second-half run that finally put 11th-ranked Baylor in control, and the Bears went on to a 77-67 victory over San Diego State on Tuesday.
Miller, the 6-foot-9 freshman forward, had 20 points and has led the Bears (3-0) in scoring in all three games this season. Acy, a senior, had 13 points.
The game was tied at 32 early in the second half before the two Quincys put the Bears out in front with an 18-5 run.
Miller put the Bears ahead to stay with his inside jumper and scored seven points in the 5-minute spurt, and Acy scored nine.
Chase Tapley had 28 points with eight 3-pointer to lead San Diego State (3-1).
After Tapley made a jumper, Acy made three free throws in an 8-second span before his highlight play, a one-handed reverse dunk.
