ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -Reid Augst scored 19 points to help lead UNC-Asheville to a 75-63 win over Belmont-Abbey on Friday night.
John Williams added 16 and Jason Ridenhour chipped in 12 for the Bulldogs (1-0), who shot 47.7 percent from the field en route to the school's third-straight season-opening win.
Richard Barbee scored 18 and Jonathan Jackson added 10 for the Barons (0-1), who shot 35 percent on the night.
The Barons trailed 31-28 with four minutes to go in the first before the Bulldogs' 10-3 run made the score 40-31 at the half. The Bulldogs eventually pulled out to a 17-point lead in the second half on the way to the final margin.
