HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) -Jeremy Wise scored 23 points and Southern Mississippi beat Loyola of New Orleans 75-51 on Saturday night.
It was the first meeting between both schools since 1963.
In the season opener, the Golden Eagles out-rebounded the Wolfpack 42-24. Andre Stephens had a game-high eight rebounds for Southern Miss.
Ryan Brock scored 14 points and Torry Beaulieu added 11 points for Loyola (3-1), an NAIA school.
Wise had 14 points in the first half, as Southern Miss took a 34-22 halftime lead after trailing 12-11 midway through the half.
Southern Miss went on a 25-8 run over the next 10 minutes in the second half to claim a commanding 63-36 lead.
