MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Mathias Ward scored 19, Kareem Jamar chipped in 18 and Montana dominated the second half Wednesday night to put away a pesky Minot State squad 82-51.
The Grizzlies (1-1) outscored Minot State 43-24 in the second half after leading by only 10 at the break, 39-29. Josh Johnson refused to let his team go quietly, scoring 23 points on 8 of 15 shooting while pulling nine rebounds for the Beavers (1-1).
Montana opened the season with a tough 72-65 loss to Colorado State on Nov. 9, but rebounded against Minot State, a Division II school.
Jamar six rebounds and five assists to his point total. Spencer Coleman had 10 points including a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line and added four rebounds. Keron Deshields had four points, seven assists and five rebounds.
