GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) -Dan Geriot had 22 points and 10 rebounds, Justin Harper hit a key 3-pointer with 1:26 left in overtime and Richmond beat East Carolina 67-65 Tuesday night.
Harper gave the Spiders (2-2) the lead for good when his 3 made it 64-63. East Carolina pulled within 66-65 on Brock Young’s layup with 10 seconds left, then fouled Ryan Butler, who made 1-of-2 free throws.
Darrell Jenkins missed a 3-pointer with 2 seconds left for the Pirates (1-1).
Oumar Sylla had 15 points for Richmond, which shot 46 percent and overcame 57.9 percent free-throw shooting.
Gabe Blair had 19 points and 12 rebounds for East Carolina, while James Legan had 10 points and Jenkins had 10 assists.
The teams were tied 61-61 at the end of regulation.
