NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Gerald Robinson scored 26 points to lead Tennessee State in a 90-80 win over Cumberland on Friday.
Bruce Price added another 20 points with eight rebounds to help his team win its home opener. Jerrell Houston added 14 points and five rebounds and Stephen Evans chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.
State shot 44.4 percent for the game with Cumberland following close behind at 43.3 percent.
Cumberland’s Thomas Douglas led that team with 21 points. Rodney James brought in 18 points and nine rebounds. Rontreal Braxton added 11 points and Decorey Young did his part with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
State led the game 50-44 at the half.
