TULSA, Okla. (AP) – Danny Manning is starting out with a nearly clean slate in his first season as Tulsa’s coach.
Only three players with college experience are on the roster he inherited after being hired in the spring to replace Doug Wojcik. Three players, including leading scorer Jordan Clarkson, transferred out of the program. Three others graduated, and forward Kodi Maduka gave up the sport for medical reasons after he collapsed during a pickup game the same day Manning was hired in April.
The former NBA All-Star and ex-Kansas assistant has brought in seven newcomers to run his attacking defense, which will debut Sunday against LSU-Shreveport.
