SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -Freshman forward Austin Daye scored 17 points to lead six Gonzaga players in double figures Wednesday night in the 14th-ranked Bulldogs’ 101-70 exhibition win over Emporia State.
Jeremy Pargo added 16 points for the Bulldogs, who shot 57 percent from the field. Micah Downs scored 14 points, David Pendergraft 12, Robert Sacre 11 and Abdullahi Kuso 10 for Gonzaga.
Wes Book and DeAndre Townsend both scored 17 points for Emporia State. The Hornets are ranked 23rd in NCAA Division II.
Gonzaga led only 47-43 at halftime after Emporia State made eight 3-pointers in the first half. In the second half, the Bulldogs scored the first nine points and outrebounded the Hornets 22-7.
Gonzaga opens the regular season Sunday against visiting Montana.
