SEATTLE (AP) -Matthew Bryan-Amaning scored 20 points and Justin Holiday added 18 to help the 18th-ranked Washington Huskies to a 97-76 exhibition victory over Division II St. Martin’s on Saturday.
Bryan-Amaning was 9-for-11 from the field, but missed seven of his nine free throw attempts.
Isaiah Thomas, the team’s second leading scorer last season at 16.9 ppg, had 11 assists and eight points.
Blake Poole led the Saints with 21 points.
The Huskies return four of five starters from a team that reached the regional semifinals last season. For the time in school history, Washington was selected by the media as the favorite to win the Pac-10 title.
The Huskies, who led by 19 at the half, watched their lead shrink to 10 points just 6 1/2 minutes into the second half. Roger O’Neill hit his only 3-pointer at 13:15 to drew the Saints to a 64-54 score. The Huskies responded with a 15-0 run to put the game away.
