Summer trips overseas are giving teams a big head start into the college basketball season.
Allowed once every four years, the trips give teams a chance to practice and play games before everyone else, enjoy a unique bonding experience, and even take in a little culture.
Over a dozen teams made overseas trips this past summer, including DePaul to France, Creighton to the Bahamas and Stanford to three countries in Europe.
Georgetown was involved in an ugly fight with a Chinese team during a stop in Beijing, but the Hoyas saw even that as a positive step, calling it a chance to come together as a team.
