LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -Freshman Samardo Samuels scored 20 points, Jared Swopshire added 14 points and 11 rebounds, and No. 3 Louisville held off Georgetown College 74-67 in an exhibition on Saturday.
Vincent Crutcher led the Tigers, an NAIA school located about an hour east of Louisville, with 18 points. David Graham added 16 for Georgetown, but the Tigers missed several free throws in the final minute that could have helped them pull off the upset.
Georgetown hung around for most of the game and took a 51-50 lead with just over nine minutes left before the Cardinals put together a 12-2 run to go ahead for good.
Louisville shot just 39 percent from the field, was outrebounded 46-37 and committed 18 turnovers, but was 33-of-50 from the free-throw line.
