HOOVER, Ala. (AP) – Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings professes to not know much about Southeastern Conference favorite Kentucky beyond returning star Terrence Jones.
Stallings said at Thursday’s SEC media day, he’ll learn “about them when we have to start preparing for them.”
The Wildcats have once again reloaded with much-hyped freshmen like forward Anthony Davis and point guard Marquis Teague. They’re favored to win the SEC after making the Final Four last season, but there’s plenty of challengers in a potentially top-heavy league.
Vanderbilt is loaded with veterans and Florida has a deep and talented backcourt and a team that was among the last eight teams standing at the NCAA tournament. Both have potential Top 10 teams.
They’re the three favorites in a league that has done away with divisions this season for hoops.
