TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) – Arizona lost star forward Derrick Williams and point guard Lamont Jones from last season.
A talented group of freshman may help the Wildcats keep winning without them.
Led by a solid core of experienced players and another superb recruiting class by coach Sean Miller, Arizona is looking to make another deep run in the playoffs despite losing two starters from a year ago.
The Wildcats went 30-8 last season and came within seconds of reaching the Final Four, but lost Williams to the NBA and Jones to a transfer.
Expectations haven’t dropped too far in the desert, though, thanks to talented freshmen Josiah Turner, Nick Johnson, Angelo Chol and Sidiki Johnson, not to mention a deep pool of players with NCAA tournament experience.
