LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky coach John Calipari thinks this group of Wildcats is up the challenge of playing for the powerhouse program.
Speaking at Kentucky's Big Blue Madness on Friday night, Calipari delighted the capacity crowd at Rupp Arena with a rousing speech more reminiscent of a campaign stop than a basketball practice.
Calipari says ''We don't just play college basketball, we are college basketball. As you know, we are everyone's Super Bowl.''
The Wildcats failed to qualify for the NCAA tournament last season and lost to Robert Morris in the first round of the NIT. But the expectations remain high this season, boosted by another banner recruiting class.
