LOS ANGELES (AP) -Sophomore Jerime Anderson, expected to be UCLA’s starting point guard, missed the first official practice because of a strained left groin.
Anderson sat out Friday night after injuring himself earlier in the week. Coach Ben Howland said he will miss the team’s first four practices, but could return Wednesday.
Anderson played in all 35 games last season, averaging 2.3 points.
UCLA opens the season Nov. 16 against Cal State Fullerton at Pauley Pavilion.
