LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -The Kansas Jayhawks have raised the curtain on the 2009-10 season, one they hope will end with a second national championship in three years.
So what if it was just a scrimmage and a few skits? Friday’s “Late Night at the Phog” was a chance for the Jayhawks to get back on the court after an offseason filled with fights, disagreements and a DUI arrest.
Kansas returns all five starters, including guard Sherron Collins and center Cole Aldrich, and had one of the nation’s best recruiting classes, headed by the brother tandem of Xavier and C.J. Henry.
The key will be pulling all those egos together and finding enough basketballs to go around.
Kansas opens its season Nov. 13 at home against Hofstra.
