COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Ohio State has four starters back and one of the premier recruiting classes in the land.
About all it’s missing is the best player in the nation.
Evan Turner, the Associated Press Player of the Year last season, left a year early to jump to the NBA. Left behind are starters Jon Diebler, William Buford, David Lighty and Dallas Lauderdale, along with a group of freshmen led by two-time Ohio Mr. Basketball Jared Sullinger and Indiana scoring sensation Deshaun Thomas.
Maybe the biggest question facing coach Thad Matta is figuring out who’s going to play point guard for the Buckeyes, coming off a 29-8 season in which they tied for the Big Ten’s regular-season title, won the conference’s tournament championship and made it to the NCAA round of 16.
